Default Repairing rocker arm carrier.

When disassembling I noticed the center nut on the carrier was barely tight. After cleaning and examining I found the threads have been partially stripped. It looks like the stud is cast in but I am not sure that is the case. Is it possible to remove and replace the studs?

Are the threads too bad/gone that cleaning them with a thread tool would not fix them?

Its only the center stud. I will try running a die over it. My Son had suggested taking it down to the next smaller size.

Someone with more knowledge will chime in... but I would not take it to a smaller size...

These are so plentiful and cheap on ebay and TheSamba, I'm not sure why you would sweat rehabbing one.
