912 Fuchs questions
Friend of mine has bought a 912 and is looking for fuchs for it. I have almost zero 912 fuchs knowledge.
What size and offset came on stock 912? Part number?
Will 911 fuchs fit on a 912 and if so is it considered an upgrade?
Reputable aftermarket suppliers these days?
Anyone have a set they want to sell?
Thanks in advance !

Stock sizes for the '65-'69 912 was 15" x 4.5" with a tire size of 165 HR 15. Yes, they offered fuch wheels as an upgrade to the steel rims - but, you'll have to read the obituaries daily to find a previous owner's widow who may part with them before she knows what they are worth..??
Just sayin'!!

Like my friend John D says the 4.5's are really rare. And wanted! In 1967 Porsche introduced the 4.5 Fuch wheel on the 1967 911 "S". It was well received and became a common offering afterwards. In 1968 the Fuch went slightly wider at 5.5 (and the front fender changed slightly as well), and then wider again after '68 (again with a mild front fender change) ending at a "regular" 6 inch width (for very early cars).
I have what are called "flat 6's" all four corners on my 1967. It came with 4.5's like John D has on his 1967, but sadly my cars 4.5's were sold well before I got the car.
I think a set of "flat" sixes in front and "deep" sixes in the back may be the best look if you dont want to be restricted by originality.

I'm surprised by this thread. 4.5x15 Fuchs are plentiful on the Early911Sregistry site, TheSamba, eBay, EASY and lots of other places. And they are far cheaper than 6x16 Fuchs (which of course were never original to a 912). Most folks who are not completely **** about originality-over-utility don't want 4.5x15.

Show me!
If they are original 4.5 made by Fuch then I will buy up every one you send my way. But... I know they are reproductions that can be had for $120 each.
Sigh.
