Cool project. Would have sworn that I would like the steel better than the Fuchs, but dang the Fuchs look good.

got the thing running now and what a blast it is to drive! here are the moments leading up to my maiden cruise...

the day i was going to drop it in i decided to replace some hardware and some additional gaskets.

installed headers and gaskets

needed different intake gaskets for the CIS to PMO manifold conversion

the man tom amon installing the new clutch assembly

another look at the motor all buttoned up

ok now some prep work inside the engine bay

we called it a night

ok bright and early the next day we got the tranny in place

replaced the seal (don't want any leaks!)

and in she goes! (insert truck backup sound here)

easy now...

success!

another angle

i decided i wanted 15x6's instead of the super wide 15x7's (more pics later)

pics with steelies

one more

here's a pic with the new-to-me 15x6's

oh and i got some bilsteins (HD fronts and Sport rears)

rears are in but i still need to do the fronts (waiting on new torsion bars)

the night before her big day

morning drive down to the park (i know the hood latch still needs some adjusting)

side shot

horrible lighting but the perfect stance

last shot

all in all, i'm very pleased with the way it turned out. it drives nice and tight. throttle response is crispy but i still need to dial the carbs in. i'll post a video some time soon.

up next... interior!

I like your new look with the 15x6 Fuchs...looks much better IMHO. I have a coupe of questions.
1) How much did you lower the car? It looks great!
2) What is the offset for this setup?
3) What are the tire sizes you are running with.

Thanks

Did I mention that the car is absolutely beautiful. Love the looks but would love to hear the engine as well.

What kind of HP will that put out? 175?Click the image to open in full size.
my wrench estimates 215-220. my butt dyno agrees but we just realized a few issues:

1) the #2 cylinder compression was at 70psi! apparently the valves were stuck open
2) all other valves were too tight
3) the needle for cylinder 2 was bottomed out inside and broke the tip off!
4) my bell crank on the throttle linkage was too small and only opened the carb up about 3/4 of the way
5) fuel pump only fed 1-2lbs of fuel

my car is going to be done fixing all the issue above tomorrow so can't wait to rip around town with it this weekend.

That car looks and sounds great. Love the GoPro had one for a few months last year, note they don't float in the water prof case unless you have the floaty one.
