Finally converted from Solexes to Webers...
My '66 912 Solexes started as late series split-shaft and were converted to solid shaft by 356 Carburetor Rescue, in addition to new butterflies and bushings. They ran OK but just not as good as I would have hoped, probably due to the fact the jets are so dang hard to find so "close enough" was about the best I could do.
Solexes:
I purchased the Webers through Jack Morris at Wolfsburg Motorwerks here in Seattle and he set the floats and jetting for me so my expectations were high and in the end, exceeded.
Webers:
Got to say, it's a different car, especially when cold.
