Do you have stock gearing? how was it on the hwy? RPM vs spd??

driven cross country 3 times.. both aof the 1st two years i had valve probs,... broken spring one year, stuck valve another. had a full duane spencer rebuild the next, and the drivers side carb caught fire in the middle of utah.. thankfully halon extinuisher put it out in no time. took aprt the carb on the side of the road, cleaned it up and drove to vegas where we found a spare to get me through the rest of the strip. new bieker carbs now, and it runs like a striped assed ape. mpg has been in the high 20s low 30s consistantly before and after rebuild. stock gearing. crusing speed depends on where i was at. in more populated areas constantly at 4k.. wide open spaces, closer to 5k crusing. Im in columbus ohio, and make the trip about every year; im definitly driving out again this year since i flew out last year. it ws the 1st time in 3 years that i didnt drive out
