Post Missing 912 message boards?

Just wondering what happened to the 912 message board at:

http://www.daveh@hillmanimages.com

They’ve been M.I.A. for the last few days… Anybody know anything?

well....... on the pelican parts board, (where alot of other 912ers meet), craig said that his 912 web site and message boards are down.

craig has said
"For anyone who has been trying to access Dave's 912 site or any of the BBS www.bay912.org (Bay 912/SoCal 912 etc). There has been an interuption of ISP service and it is hoped to be resolved later today.

Craig"

that was 2 days ago. later that day craig said
"As I understand it goes back to Verison who Dave's local ISP was using. The ISP provider uses Verizon DSL lines and it is Verizon having the problems. I am sure Dave will provide an update once things are back to normal. "

soooooo......... i guess we are waiting for the server to get fixed or whatever.

unfortuintly we are all in limbo

pelican is only slightly better than here for 912s(renn list is great, dont get me wrong, just not much goin on as far as 912s are concerned!!!) but nothing can replace daves sight. hope it gets fixed soon.

Speaking of 912s... I need a pair of Weber 44IDA's for mine! Know anyone with a spare set?

ive always thought it would be cool to get a set up to shoot flames, but would be too afraid of catching the dam thing on fire

the only webbers i have are for a beetle, and theyve been in the box in a cabinet my dads garage for about 16 years. doubt they would fit tho (or how well theyd work being in box unused for that long, i believe theyre nos). you can always do the ebay thing. (or ask people on the 912 bbs that dave has when its up and running again.. when ever that would be.

Hi Harry...!!

I know what it's like when a Forum goes down, leaving folks "stranded" for a while (it feels even worse if your the ADMIN, though!!! ).. Anyway - if you folks would like to let your 912 buddies know they are welcomed here as an interim "stop-gap" - feel free to do so.... When Jeff comes back on-line, I'd be pleased to send him the "threads" from this Forum, and he may be able to import them back into his Forum when his ISP gets squared away - and that way, you could keep any discussions "intact" (it would loose the "User" identity though - but the conversations could be picked right up..)..

Anyway, just an offer, if it helps you out....

Best to you,

John D.

Well, I couldn't get my carbs to sync after a month of tinkering so I gave up and sent it to the doctor. Turns out, there are tooling holes drilled into the carb bodies that are later plugged... well, one of the four plugs had popped out so I had the number 4 cylinder sucking in a huge amount of air, basically leaning it out to the point that it wouldn't even fire. When it did the odd time, it would backfire either through the throat or as a huge flame out the ***. Anyway, the hole is plugged and the car is running better. Still pops a lick of blue flame on occasion which is cool! Anyway, the carb doc said that the 48's are too big for the engine and that I would be making more power with a set of 44's. I'll post a wanted ad on the 912 board once it's alive and kicking again.

Hope you liked the pic I sent!
