912 Resurrection
My neighbor has a '68 912 that has been idle in his garage for about 10 years. They have asked me for assistance to get the car back into operation. I am fairly skilled working on the 3.0 and 3.6 liter pcars. I have never worked on any of the 4 cylinder cars.
anyone one out there resurrected a 912 lately.
I'm thinking at a minimum.
new battery
drain fuel tank and lines
clean carbs
If anyone can direct me to any diys for this car it would be greatly appreciated.

Sounds like you are on the right path. You might want to also check out the ignition system. The cap can trap moisture and may rust the contacts, making start up and running condition rough. We have a specific Service Kit, found HERE, which may help you out. Check the contents out. Let me know if you have any questions.

Beware the fuel tank issue; check it out carefully. Mine was stored for about 15 years with about 3/4 tank to start with and everything about the tank was choked up. Don't expect to drain the old, put in the new and run it.
