Just Bought My First 912
I have just purchased my first 912. It is a 1965 w 29,000 original miles on the car with 1 original owner. The car came with a factory sunroof, so I think it might be rare. Anyway, the guy was like 82 years old and had said he changed out the seats for more comfortable ones years ago and does not have the originals. I am looking to buy a set of early 912 front seats, black. If anyone here can point me in the right direction it would be appreciated.
Thanks guys,
Donald

Nice looking car. Welcome to owning a 912. You also might want to post in the wanted to buy section here.http://www.912bbs.org/index.php?c=17
Great site of 912 people / cars.
Early 911 seats also work, check in samba.com as well and you may expect to get the seats all recovered to have them as nice as your call. Ebay often has seats that will need restoration.
Have '68 seats, re-covered them and they are not that comfortable (as more modern seats) nor do they hold you in place as you would like when driving. Mine didn't have headrest / restraints either... but they are original.
Some of the 912 folks have upgraded to more modern seats like these Monte Carlo from GTS http://www.classiccarseats.com/ and like them.

Welcome and congrats on the purchase. Beautiful car and the best way to get to know the car is to drive it every chance you can. You will find the 912 fun to drive and easy to maintain.
As far as the seats, I have to agree with Rob. You will be disappointed with the "original" seats once you get a chance to sit in one. For what you will spend on finding orignal seats in a condition that will fit with the rest of your interior, you can easily find a set of early 911 seats, Recaros, or Corbeaus. I believe Porsche seats up to 1973 bolt in directly, other makes and later seats will require adapters.
