Sure, I know they wouldn't mind a little free publicity.

Default 912 is a great choice

As you can see, I have two choices to drive (not counting my MINI Cooper), my 993 and my 912.

While the 993 offers more power, speed, and comfort, the 912 is more fun to drive. There is more road feel, and it is much easier to work on. You definately get more attention with the 912. Yes, the price of the 912 is reasonable, but the value is definately increasing.

If you have an opportunity to find one, get it (assuming it is in good shape). Rust is the enemy, but there are good ones out there. I know of several cars that have rusted out too bad to continue, and as such the number of good cars become more rare.

Here's some more progress. Hood seals, bumpers and side deco strips are on. She's really looking like a new 912 now ....

Here's my new screen saver ...

That really looks like first rate work they've done on that car!! I bet they'd get more done if they weren't sleeping under the car all the time !!

Thanks, Andreas. BTW, I scoured the L.A. Lit show and the all Porsche swap meet the next day and saw 0 (ZERO) 12 blade fans for sale. I asked everyone selling 964/993 stuff and they all pretty much said no ...
Oh well, I'll still keep looking though ...

So, we're off the dolly finally, sitting on all fours! Can't wait to get the engine back from detail and in so we can set the car down to european ride height, the 'crabwalk' ain't pretty ....

Here's some parting shots before the car was sent down to Tony's for upholstery:

Detail inside the trunk is coming along, looking like a new 912 ...

Nothing like an early, straight 901 body ...

The eye's are in!
