yes and yes. go with the rebuild if it needs it, and go with the pertronixs too. If your distributor is worn out and sticking, a pertronix wont fix it. the only thing that can cure a worn out dizzy is a rebuild. it migh be a hair pricer than a new dizzy (i think a new rsr0012 is just under 200?), but its worth it and will last for another 30-40 years. The pertronics is there to replace points, and to make tune ups easier as you dont have to adjust them. the pertronics doesnt cure issues, other than poor tuning by the mechanic. its just there to make life easier. just set the pertronix in and forget about dwell or points adjustements. all you need to worry about with a pertronix is the timing. i highly recomend the pertonix on top of the rebuild as it will make life easier.
