Default New 912 Steering wheel... req'd hub?

A friend's wife is buying him a new steering wheel for a '69 (I believe) 912 that he's restoring. The mounting hub sold by the website she's buying the wheel from is apparently only for VWs. Sorry I'm not familiar with 912s and I don't want to give her bad info... Can someone help with some direction on what she'll need to get for him to be able to mount this steering wheel:

TIA!

eh.. i dont know if that will work on a 912. it looks like a mota-lita/nardi style wheel (but the center of the wheel will macth a porsche hub). anyways mota-lita & nardi porsche hubs (if that will even work with this wheel) are NLA.

she wants to get him a good wooden wheel? she can buy an original wood wheel for a 912, refisnished (restored to perfection) from Bruce Crawford 805.528.6240

he can also give several suggestions on what one can do. he is a porsche steering wheel restorer/expert, an his work is top notch.

Bruce may also have nardi or mota-lita wheels and hubs.. since hubs are nla though expect to pay if he does have em.

here is his ad on the 356 registry website

Patrick, i was in a hury typing (im at work) and it didnt come out right.

the 1st paragraph should say

i dont know if that will work on a 912. it looks like a mota-lita/nardi style wheel (but the center of the wheel in the link you posted DOES NOT LOOK LIKE IT WILL match a porsche hub). anyways mota-lita & nardi porsche hubs (if that will even work with this wheel) are NLA. "

when i read over what i typed i realize it looked way off.. since it doesnt look like it will fit, that little bit that didnt come out is very iomportant.

I think I read it right just the same... It looks like she's scrapping this one and going either your recommended route or another one she's tracking down. Thanks for helping!

momo prototipo steering wheels and hubs will fit too. will be period correct as they were the same wheels used in porsche racee cars during the era (60s and 70s), 906, 910, 907, 908, 917, 911, 914, etc...

http://www.pelicanparts.com/catalog/...911REC_pg9.htm

not a classic look like a wooden steering wheel, but will fit, will be period correct. (not a factory option though)

all depends on what style and what he likes, and his plans for the car.

That's a nice 912 Harry. I'll pass the pic along, but when I left work, she was on the phone with someone and I suspect there's something in the mail already.

I looked through your album of the cross country trip... looks like a heck of an adventure!
