Porsche Emblem
Hi
I forgot to ask, the 912 I just bought does not have an emblem on the engine compartment lid like I have seen on most 912. I see no holes or other location where an emblem could have been mounted. Did some 912 not come without an emblem on them?

the porsche script on the rear deck or are you talking about the model number script on the rear deck lid? yes, they all came with both of them from 65-69. 912E's did not, as they had the porsche reflector. if you have an early 912 (65-69) someone has refinsihed the rear deck on yours and filled in the holes. you will need to make the holes in order to put it back on. dependiong on what year yours is, there are 2 different styles. 65-66 (or maybe 67?) has one type where the letters are connected, and the later type through 69 has a seperate type where each letter is connected on seperately.
hmm... it could be a later deck lid!
74 and up 911's and 912E's did not have this on their deck lid (they had the reflector above the bumper with the script). if yours is a 912E.. you dont need it! now if you have a 65-69, then this means you have a newer deck lid on there.

no problem!
also you might want to check out the 912 registry if you havent yet. it is free to register your car btw.

and if you havent checked out the 912bbs yet, thats where most 912ers are, and both are an invaluable source of info.
