couple questions... you have a deep sump or is your engine just that low? (or is your car just that low?)

whats the bracket on the left?

 

The engine does have a deep sump and yes, the car does sit that low. Scary, eh? I'm always really careful driving over speedbumps and high curbs. The bracket on the left is the rear engine mount. Because the T4 is so long with the pancake cooling set up, we had to fabricate a new mount out of steel to hold the rear of the engine but use the factory 912 engine mounting points so not to cut up the car. Real Monster Garage engineering! I suppose if I'd found a 912E mount it would have been perfect but good luck finding pieces from one of those cars!
