So I took a buddy for his first ever Porsche drive. He is a car guy but has never experienced a vintage air-cooled car. We drove one of my favorite mountain twisty runs. At the turn around point we stopped and he just walked around the car asking tons of questions. Then I surprised him and asked him to drive us back through the hills all the way home. He hadn’t driven a manual transmission in many years but quickly regained the clutch smoothness like riding a bike. I have to tell you the smile on his face the entire trip was priceless! Without any prompting he made many statements while smiling as he drove the car through the curves and accelerating along the straights.
Here are some familiar quotes he made spontaneously:
“This is incredible, I feel everything” “I smell the gas and the sound is awesome” “it feels like we are going 100mph in the curves but we are not” “I can’t believe the way this car feels” and the final quote “I’ve gotta get one of these”.
Needless to say we had a great day and I enjoyed sharing my car with a good friend. I think I had as much fun watching him experience the car as he did riding then driving it. He wanted a picture of himself behind the wheel as a souvenir. I encourage all of you to take someone out and do the same thing as a great Christmas gift to a freind. Here is his photo. RRC

I took her out for a short drive to stretch her legs. It’s been a bit because of this darn covid. It really felt good cruising again I cannot wait until we start having car events again.

Went out to have coffee and a run through the hills with some friends. The car ran and handled great. After the hills I took them to the art walls and a photo shoot of their cars. Great day.

Coffee this morning with some Porsche buddies then we headed out to Buttonwillow Racetrack to watch some fast movers. PCA GGR had a track day. Awesome day.

I took my seats to a local upholstery shop (Art Ramirez) and had him add additional foam to the bolsters and lumbar. He also re-dyed the inserts to freshen up the appearance.

Awesome job Art! These seats look and feel better than new. RRC

After I had the seats redone I couldn’t resist and went ahead had the door cards recovered. Now both seats and door cards are freshened up and look great.

I think a have a touch of OCD and continue to make improvements that really aren’t necessary but it makes me happy. RRC
