According to the post on the HP, he even had to start it for the gunman — with a pistol at his back. Unfortunately, his kid saw the whole thing. Curiously, there's no mention of whether the car was ever recovered? I imagine it was stripped for parts or put on a boat to South America...

sad story for sure, especially with his daughter there.

but wow, a push button start installed back in '77 (and still working when stolen in the 80's).
Now that's a option for back then!!

I was curious about that too? I mean it obviously didn't work here, but was it some kind of anti-theft option?

Interesting in that these non-car type writers never seem to get the story straight!

Firstly, the car pictured "as an example" is a later car than a 77.

Secondly, if I remember this incident it happened in the 80's and the car was a customized (hence the push-button start) DP/Kremer slantnose.. not a standard 930 as referenced! They also jacked him for his Rolex.

well there was also a rod stewart 930 with a couple of indents in the headliner from a set of stiletto heels, much more interesting story.
