Default 930 - oil cooler question

I'm looking at a 930 in a week. It has a front oil cooler added with the accommodating front spoiler. How necessary, or beneficial, is this additional oil cooler for weekend driving, no track, little to no traffic, in Texas? I really don't like the spoiler but maybe I can get over it if this is a good add-on.
Thanks

In August a/c on city driving my temp gauge barely gets over the first mark. So, for me it's been a benefit.

However, I just made the decision this week to replace the AIR splitter/font cooler with the OEM valance, 930 503 971 00. The car is mostly a garage queen and fair weather driver so I'm not concerned about having a heat issue.
At this point, my desire for originality outweighs the alternative.

Great looking car. That's my dilemma as well- i want to retain as much stock as possible.

Another possibility would be to replace the center front cooler with a good right side fender cooler (Carrera style), perhaps with a fan, or, if that's not enough, a second left side fender cooler in series. If you're not on the track, I would think you could get away without the center cooler, even in Texas, if you have enough cooling from the side cooler(s). Placing the side coolers has its issues too -- there are things that will have to be removed or relocated (horns, washer reservoir, other brackets), and getting air to/from those coolers is an issue as is protecting them from tire-thrown debris, but doing so would probably allow you to retain a stock external appearance.

Thanks for the comments. I'll probably remove it, the stock spoiler comes w/ the car, and see how it goes.

^Is there a good Porsche shop (air coooled) in Austin or San Antonio area? They can probably give you some good feedback on this question.
