Default Prices of 993 vs 930's

Just throwing this question out there...for will be listing mine in a bit...some local interest prior to getting car back, from customers at shop, so have not gone official...but why are 993's that I think are way more common going for more than 930's, that are rarer? Or am I mistaken about the number of 993 turbos made and thinking only of the 505 code like mine is with production numbers in 700's for 87-89? Just curious....thx, Hal

I'm curious about this too but I've seen some '78 and '79 930s go for a pretty high price, higher than the 993tt. Perhaps the lethal combo of great looks, modern drive ability, and the "last of the air-cooled" had pushed them past and have helped overcome the rarity of the 930. My two cents...

Couple of reasons, there were way more 930s produced vs 993tt. Something like 21000 930s made worldwide 75-89, vs about 5500 993 turbos. The 993tt has always held it's value pretty good, never really went lower than $50k where 930s really dropped down a lot (20s or less).
Plus the 993tt is more modern and drivable, in addition to being the last air cooled turbo just makes it more desirable.
