Default Timing chain replacement

Does anybody know if it is possible to change the chain, tensioners, and guides with the engine in?

Not sure why you would want to. Possible, perhaps but do not know for sure. Desirable, no. It will take you longer than if you simply drop the engine. Getting the covers off is very much a pain with the engine in the car. Again, possible but a lot of work as space is tight.

I agree that a drop would be the way to go. Also, isn't there risk of losing the valve timing? If so would would need to have the engine out. My 2 cents..

False alarm. I thought I was hearing chain slap. Not ready for a full rebuild yet($$$), but wanted to drive her this spring. That was the intention anyway. Either way false alarm.
