What i need:

Call Brian. Very active on Pelican. Extremely generous with his knowlege and experience. My car came with B&B headers with heat. They worked well for me but others have had issues. If I was starting from scratch I would start with Brian.

SSI's or Euro ROW factory headers have a long standing debate either one regarded as the best, and either will not lessen the value of the car, tuning afr is quite a simple adjustment(if required)

I just took off a GHL system and Garrett GT35 Turbo from my 79 car. Didn't like it so I replaced it with 3.2 heat exchangers, K27 and RUF muffler.

Hmmm, I have had a full GHL system on my '91 Turbo for 11 years. Always liked it, but must admit I have not swapped any other systems to compare.

Edwin, what did you not like about the GHL?

Other than wanting it to be a bit louder, I've always thought the fit & finish were top notch.

TIA,
=Steve

Hi Steve,

I found it very loud and just way over the top for me and I want my car to be more like how it left RUF back in the 80s.

Hmm, Ok. Maybe I have the quieter version of the GHL, since I understand there are (or were) two different variations from them (Loud & Quiet).

I do have the original purchase paperwork (13 yrs ago) from GHL, but would have to go back deep into the folder & pull it out to grab the part numbers (which I may do just out of curiosity).

Default i have a set -

I have a set of SS headers with zork - they do not have heater boxes and that is the reason I changed them. They are offered in Pelican....see the link.

Boxed and ready to go ...

http://forums.pelicanparts.com/porsc...ght-pipes.html

I have video of car idling and driving...they are not loud or unpleasant with a nice gargle off throttle..if you are interested. No worries..they are just sitting in the garage

This is the system I had fabricated by Bob Holcombe for my 964 Turbo, but I believe it should bolt on to a 930 as well. Problem is, I have to finish putting my car back together before I can hear it!

Holcombe is exhaust ****. Unfortunately he doesn't do exhaust systems for the public anymore.

You are right! He did this as a favor for me via a friend. This was a bargain compared to the Europipe on my 996tt - it did not include headers.

I agree, Brian's headers are a work of art and a very nice improvement over stock, I took B&B headers off my car and installed the Rarely L8 headers, the improvements were very noticeable to sound and seat of the pants. Also my boost comes on closer to 3000 rpm now. I'll be adding Brian's hooligan muffler soon too.

I'll be listing my used B&B 930 headers with heat for sale soon.

I have Brian's headers with heat and his Hooligan muffler, great kit. I personally think it's the best out there!
