Default wiring questions

I am replacing my headliner and found 3 cut wires......

The two brown appear to be the dome lights above the door.

Does anyone know if the other is the rear wiper or the rear defrost?

If anyone can pointy me to a wiring manual for a 79 930 - that would be most helpful. I have restored the majority of the car to my liking, and this spring I will undertake the last project: restore the auto climate unit and the heat.

The AC and heat were removed and all the wiring was removed from behind the e-brake. Thankfully everything is in tact behind the dash board.

After removing the headliner, I plugged in the new dome lights...and they work!

Turns out the wires are for the rear defrost. IF anyone has a picture of the wiring on that connects to the glass...there are a total of 12 connections.

Looks lit it all splits off the 1 power line and the 2 brown grounds.

Making progress.

Yes, those are for the defroster.

You often find them cut in this manner on 911/930s that have had the rear window removed at some time or another. Typically because the shop or owner is too lazy to fish the individual wires through the seal.

It is a short harness running back to the engine compartment electric panel. If you can find the harness.. a section from any 911 should work and can be spliced in. Will not be considered "butchery" if done correctly..

You'd be surprised how many of them out there have been done this way and function just fine.
