The 94 turbo S and turbo S flachbau used the KKK K27/7006. I am pretty sure the 3.3 turbo S used the stock KKK K27/7200

Default BHP

Hi
Great car but 330bhp engine, 0.8 lb boost spring, I had a turbo LE in U.K., same engine.
Only way this engine gets 385bhp is by turning up boost to 1.2 with stronger boost spring, engine gets wrecked rather quickly though.
Paul
Enjoy

at the Coys Auction ( # 7/10 - Paris, France - October 2016 ) didn't show up.

Default 911 Turbo S Information

Those cars were all equipped with the 930/66s engine, 959 seats ( with grey color stripes ) and various other different "930 S" goodies ( 4 pot exhaust, front spoiler, oil cooler etc...).

Those cars not to be mixed with works 1989 Turbo S cars of which only 21 were built.

If I'm not mistaken, the french importeur SONAUTO never got the authorisation from Porsche Stuttgart to officially call the small batch of french cars "930 S" and if you give the VIN of such a car to Porsche archives, you'll get following answer : Porsche Turbo 3.3 MY 1989

I would have to dig deeply into my documentation to check if I still have some period information about the "French Market 930 S".

A very interesting car, congrats

Do you have any more information or a source of information on the 21 Werks 911 Turbo S car? I'm looking for more. PM me if you have anything.

Sorry but I do not have anything more. The 21 cars figure ( and again : we only are speaking about the MY 1989 cars ) I do not pull out of my hat but I got it from Porsche in 1998 - 1999. Agree it is somehow contradictory with figures one can see in some books, but it is what it is.

After purchasing a 1989 black / black Werks 930/66s Turbo late 90's, I had some correspondence with Porsche Stuttgart and I very well remember ( kind of thing one never forgets ) them saying only 21 cars of the 1989 production batch left the factory with 930/66 s 330 BHP engine ( and other mods ).

How did Porsche come up with what number out of 10 the Porsche 930 Sonauto S would be? Been doing some research and cant find any information. Do you have any idea how they did it? was it to do with the VIN or maybe another way?

Hello Jon,

you will find the answer in the 911 Turbo Book (Aircooled Years 1975-1998) that I wrote together with N. Franz.
Norbert also found out all 10 VIN by the original Turbo S "Sonauto" cars.

Of course you will get the answer: Sonauto asked for 10 cars.

The original price was very, very high at that time (end of 1989) and they were able to sell all cars within one or two months.

Here comes a review by PCA for our book:

have a nice weekend,
Andreas

Default 911 Book "Aircooled Years 1974 - 1989" by Berlin Motorbooks

You do find all informations on the 911 Turbo s "Sonauto" in the new 911 book "Air Cooled Years 1974-1989"
and all other Special Editions of the G-model!

Porsche Club of America just presented it:
