Default Frankenstein 911 turbo

This car began life as a 1971 Targa. It was converted into a 1988 930 slant nose. Race built 3.2 litre engine tuned by Bob Holcombe to over 600 hp (over 700 on attack mode). Apparently won a GT class at the 2004 Vancouver Molson Indy and then sat in a Porsche turner showroom in Calgary until last year. It was completely disassembled and rebuilt this year with a fresh fiberglass Club Sport body and 18" wheels. It was back racing last weekend. I was reading about your 911 Turbo vs. 930 labeling discussion earlier. I guess this is kind of a 911/911 Turbo/930/993 2240 pound 600+ hp "rocket mutt" but I put it in this forum because it is basically a 930 underneath.

Thanks. I am interested in more history about the car. If you don't mind can I ask where did you race, and what class?

Thanks for the info. I am racing at Mission as a novice but hope to get some of the Northwestern tracks next year. What were you racing in those days? I hope to get to some of the northwestern tracks next year. If you are still racing I hope we can meet. I would like to learn more about the previous drivers of this car.

It was number 56 Porsche 993 turbo. Looked much like yours does now. We ran car all over, mission occasionally but mostly south of the border. Eventually we killed motor, where even the case halves were destroyed. We now run a 997cup rsr look with twin turbo motor, but I am in the process of rebuilding the 993 now. We have taken hiatus from racing this year but will be back next year.....
