Post SC cams and head porting

Is it necessary to have your heads ported to use SC Cams. I imagine to get the full potential it would be a wise move. I have my engine apart and was wondering if going to the SC cams without porting would be worth it.

I ran SC grind cams with no head work and it made quite a difference.

Hi Justin:

Although "bigger isn't always better". engines are a type of airpump and if you want real power out of these things, you must not only enlarge the intake and exhaust passages; you should have them professionally flowed, too.

Do not overlook the intake manifold on a 930 as it must also be enlarged and flowed so that each branch carries the same volume of air. This is usually matched to the heads, as well.

Larger, billet injector blocks are needed, too.
