Average price for a non sunroof 79' 930
What do you think the "average" sale price would be a for a stock black on black 930? Here is what I know:
-138K miles
-US Car
-Paint is 7.5
-Non sunroof (it is unknown to me if it came from the factory like this or not)
-Car runs with a little smoke on start up (seller stated there could be a little oil in intercooler due to a bearing that was not installed properly) but service history is documented and up to date
I will be running the car fax to see what that pulls up. I wish I had more information from the seller but due to his schedule, I have had minimal communication.
Any input appreciated.

A US non s/r would be pretty rare if it's real, I thought they all had S/R some euro cars did not, do you have VIN. I don't oil think in Intercooler would be from bearing but probably from turbo with seals starting to go, they can smoke for a lot of reasons, none of them good. Have motor leaked down, that should tell what you need to know. I'd price it between $30-50k depending on condition. I don't think you can get a car fax on a 79, VIN is in old format.

Could be a very nice find.
The number of early non sunroof 3.3 930’s is quite low and they are desirable to many. I only know of 2 US ’79 non sunroofs (that car could be #3).
- VIN and build date would be helpful, The US ’79 930 is a special animal as it was the only 930 built during 2 factory production runs (1979 and 1980), there are part changes.
- Also as Phil said, you won’t be able to run a car fax as the car has a 10 digit VIN
930 prices are on the advance and condition and originality are the major drivers. There are 35-50,000 mile cars being sold out there that I’m sure approach the miles on the one you are looking at! Remember, a 138K car can be a Condition #1 car, just depends on how much you want to spend.
Consider all 3.3 930’s; low condition eBay cars are struggling at $35-40K, top cars are over $100K. How nice is the car after a PPI? Is the non sunroof worth extra to you?
Good luck, hope all turns out well. Properly bought, these are great cars!
