Default What is this?

There is just a hole here in my car. Thinking about putting a gauge in place of the hole. (not my car - found picture on line)

they came from factory with a microphone installed right there

Microphone. The following link on ferrarichat.com shows the same year ('77) early Blaupunkt Bamberg Unit. Later '70's 3.3L 930's also had Bamberg Radios but the faces were different - don't know about the internals. These Radios are elusive and worth preserving.
The posting also notes the mic is available.

I believe Mang on Fchat has a Bamberg with microphone for sale.
