Need help... Paging all Slantnose owners
I am installing a factory oil cooler onto my 1988 930 Slant. The cooler I got came with oil lines. However, they do not seem to mate up with the existing lines.
From the picture below, my cooler has what seems like lines 3 & 4. They are shaped to suggest that they run towards the rear of the car. However, the valve that they plug into (not numbered in the diagram) is located in front of the cooler. I'm not sure if it was move by the prior owner, or I'm doing something wrong.
If anyone out there has a factory Slantnose, please look inside the passenger rear wheel well and advise on the location of this valve. It is the one in between lines 1&2 and 3&4.

On a factory slant, the t-stat (the un-numbered valve) sits in front of the cooler, as you described. This is different from a regular 930, which has the t-stat more anteriorly. You may not have the correct oil lines, oem slant specific lines are impossible to find.

The picture is correct from what my 89 slant looks like. The red one is a pic I found showing the cooler lines configured slightly different which I followed so I could fit the 315 30r18s on the car.

Thanks for the help guys. I called the dealer, and the factory lines are avaliable for about $400. Only problem is that thay are in Germany and take a while to arrive. So, I went ahead and modified the lines that were there. I figured, I could always buy the factory lines later if these started leaking. At least the car is back on the road now.
