Default Engine Worked Needed

I've had my 930 now for 10 years Bought it with 75,000miles now its around 125,000. I've always had regular maintaince done valve adjustments brakes, rebuild the tranny 2 years ago, colour change to fayance yellow 4 years ago.

The other week my wife was following me in another car and notices that everytime the boost started to kick in I had generous puff of blue smoke.
I spoke with my mechanic and he seemed to think it would either be seals on the turbo or the valve guides.

I don't think its going to be a turbo problem. I had a K-27 7200 installed 8 years ago and I've always let it cool off properly after using the car.

I'm wondering what kind of $$$ im looking at spending to get this done and is there anything else I should have looked at if the engine is going to be apart.

I wouldn't mind getting a few other mods done I've thought about getting

SC cams
Koklen IC

I've been quoted prices of 5-7k for top end rebuild. But than it becomes a slippery slope as you can change P&C (s), head studs and the list goes on and on ... when all said and done you could be in the 20-25k and in some cases even higher depending on if you go all the way (EFI and machine work on the motor).

How many miles on the turbo? He should be able to test to find out whether its the valves or the turbo.

Mine will leave somewhat of a gray exhaust cloud when first hitting full boost and the WG opens. I attribute that to a nice preferred rich condition. Nothing white or bluish about it. But then, that's viewed from the rear view mirror by yours truely, which is a dicey thing to be doing whilst on full boost.

my car has always left a bit of a gray smoke cloud if hit full boost in 1st and 2nd gear.

Just drove 350km to the cottage in the 930 it just started to overboost today, hits 1bar+ right away in 3nd and 4th on the highway. Another thing to add to the repair list.

The must do repair list

Oil cooler - the cooler has a very small crack leaks 8-10drops everytime the car is parked, large enough leak to get the fender covered in oil

Overboosting issue - Probably a wastegate but ive had this blue smoke issue on boost lately

what are my best options for an aftermarket cooler that sits behind the front vallance?
