Can anyone tell me if the thermo time switch part # 911 617 117 00 is compatible with part #930 617 118 00?

I have an 86 930 that needs the switch replaced. I was told by my mechanic that they are both the same but there is a huge difference in the price so was thinking there is some difference..

Any help would be appreciated.

As to whether they're interchangeable, I haven't a clue. By them both, see which one works, and if you're lucky you return the most expensive one!

 

Thanks for the response. Yeah, that was my intent but my local Porsche dealer won't accept returns on an "electrical part".
