Question Ignition timing

I still have a surging boost problem and I've been led to believe that it has somthing to do with my timing. My motor is comletely modded and I was wondering what to set the timing at. My owners manual say to set it at 29+-2 at 4000rpm with the vacuum line disconnected. I'm asumming that the motor doesn't have to be under a load for this b/c the vacuum line is disconnected? It also saysit should be 0+-4 at 900rpm. I've got an aftermarket overboost switch set at 1.3 bar and I haven't set it off yet but I used to set off the 1.1 factory switch all the time running a .7bar spring in my tial wastegate. I NEEEEEDDD to run 1 bar, I got used to the power and need more. The car is just fast, I want it to be scary fast!
Thanks in advance, <img border="0" alt="[cheers]" title="" src="graemlins/beerchug.gif" />

I had a surging problem under light throttle high revs. It was a bad WUR.

Thanks for the clarifacation.
I know it can't be the WUR b/c
I replaced the original one about
6 mons. ago. I then replaced that
one about 3 weeks after it was on the car b/c it
was bad. My boost surges only occur when I'm
at WOT in 3rd and 4th gear.

Checked fuel delivery pressure? Sounds like fuel delivery to me...

Hope this helps.

I'll start on that this weekend.
I've got to stretch the "I can't
drive my car because its in pieces"
thing out for another month or so.
I never thought about press.
thanks.

Dean,
Just replaced my overboost switch
with the one that caroll supercharging
sells. I guess I'll just have to wait
till the roads clear up a bit to see if everything that I've done has made any
bit of a differance
