Pedal Bushing Rebuild
Just received Weltmeister bronze bushing kit to rebuild '88 911 turbo pedal cluster. Everything fits fine. But the kit didn't come with a replacement spacer/bushing (16mm long x 14.5mm ID) that fits on the clutch pin/shaft on the right side (nearest the center tunnel) of the cluster. The existing spacer is white plastic(?) or nylon and doesn't appear to be worn.
Should I reuse this spacer and if so, can I apply lubricant without causing it to swell? Would it be preferable to replace this spacer with a bronze piece? If so, where would that be available?
If anyone has experience with this situation, I would appreciate any guidance/information.
Thanks,
Brad
