Default How do I get it home?

Have a deposit down on a 930 in Atlanta area - need to get it to Ohio. Not sure if I should have it shipped or rent a u-haul car trailer. Has anyone done this?

Congrats on the purchase !! I would personally want to see it before hand, so I would rent a u-haul car trailer and head on down just to make sure there wasn't too many unforeseen gremlins before I bought it. Let us know what you end up doing, can't wait too see it

I went down and saw the car this past weekend. Didn't work a deal until today. Now need to figure out the best way to get it home.

We got into some snow this past weekend. Tires on the 930 wouldn't do well in bad weather

You are absolutely correct. There are excellent shipping companies. Check the 997 forum.
There's lots of threads there with recommendations.

Fly, rent a truck and hauler. Try to keep your eyes on the road and not the rear view.
It's nice to be able to stare, sit in, look over your car when stopping for food, gas and hotels.

I try to drive all the cars that I purchase home. It's the best way to get better acquainted with a new mistress.

Well heck, don't stop there. Buy his truck to haul the trailer too, then just fly down and drive back to O-high-oh with all sorts of new toys!

Youze guyz have had a fairly mild snow winter this year, haven't you? Hopefully the drive back won't be much of an issue. Wanna hear my story from 1988 when I moved from eye-da-hoe to Chicago on an epic journey beginning January 25 and taking 5 days whilst driving my '72 Targa? A bad snow year, 'nuff said.

Happy for you Ted. Enjoy and keep us posted!
