LOL!!!! Nope - no frozen rotors HA!!!

As well - we are still negotiating what we both think is a fair price. He was a little higher than I was originally....

The other thing Jen & I are wrestling with is the prospect of having 4 Porsches for two drivers? Interestingly, one the way back from the test drive (Jen went with me, of course ) - she was thinking about selling her '89 C4 and she would use my 993 C 4. The '68 911 L neither of us are really keen about selling, so that will probably stay..?

Best to you Alfie!

John D., Nice looking ride from the picture. Let us know the outcome.

UDPride, Very well said. When I was looking for "My Right 930" there were so many that had those certain things that just yelled "don't buy me". My buying was compounded by the fact that I wanted a 1976 - 1979. Those 930VIN models (prior to the current 17 character VINs) have little or no traceability for mileage/damage. I found it very common to find many that looked well beyond their odometer findings. When I was early in my search I drove a late '79 930 model, that was a beautiful interior and exterior color I was in love with, that was presented with 32K on the odometer. That car was one of the 85 MPH speedometer cars but this one had a 160 MPH speedometer that the owner swore was original. The interior of that one looked 200K. Many times you can tell when the mileage is overstated, but issues can be covered up. What did I do? I ended up buying a documented 70K mile car that looked like it had 32K miles.

Hi Chris and all..

Nope - no other mods.. The PO from the current owner put on the twin exhaust. The current owner is "if it's not OEM, it doesn't go on" - so....

We reached a fair price in both our eyes, so I just committed to buy this... Depending on my work schedule, it should be in my garage this next week... HOWEVER!!!!

My biggest question is - should I change my Avatar??!!

My thanks to all of you!

Consider it done....

Dang - I've not been as excited about a Porsche as I have been about this one for a long time... And I've had a Porsche as a daily driver - each day, every day - since 1981......

A 930 has always been a dream of mine....

My thanks to all of you for pushing me over that cliff.....

Please let us know when you develop the early turbo terminal illness. You'll know it because it’s the one with the symptoms that manifest in your never ever being able to wipe that stupid grim off your face again, and it'll strike every time you get that turbo to come on boost! Welcome aboard.

From your description & the photo, I agree that it looks like a very nice car! Definately sounds like the type of seller that I look for!

Congrats & you'll need to post more photos!
Oh, and on the avatar change, I say go for it! My 928 photos were quickly replaced by the "big blue wing" when I changed cars! haha!

Hey Marc, Chris - well, Hey everyone

OK - I pick up the car tomorrow, so better pics will be coming up.. It's a little hectic this weekend - work & a wedding (not mine - I still love Jen ) so may Sunday? As well - here is the kind of who I bought it from... The phone rings Wednesday AM.. "Hi John! Look, I'm going to be in your area this afternoon meeting a buddy for a golf game - if you want the car, I'll drop it off at your place..".. I replied that I hadn't had the chance to get to the bank yet.. "That's no problem - I know you, so when you have the chance later this week - just put the check in the mail to me..."..

I was floored.. So, obviously, I didn't take him up on his offer - just in case something happened to the car while in my care and before he had check in hand... But, he's one of those guys who you'd trust in either business or as a friend..

The price we settled on was just over $30K ($32K) - while I was deciding, told him to put it on Craigslist and if it went for more - sell it to that person. So he did - listed it at $40K - and declined what he thought might be a good offer at $36, because he wanted his 930 to go to a home which would show it some TLC - so we did the deal... He's a straight shooter, which I think accounts for his business success.

OK - once I have the chance to wipe this silly grin off my face, I'll be pestering you with silly questions - about which wheels (17s or 18s? I'm headed to the Fiske side of that road, I think?), etc., etc....

My sincerest thanks to all..!!

John

Black car in the avatar! .. please Sir. It will confuse at least half of the residents. Who knows , you can even post ingognito for a while.

Congrats! it looks great!
(I think that it would look even better with silver wheels but then again I think that all cars should be black with silver wheels by law)
