930 wheel options
Looking at putting some OEM/OEM style 17-18" rims on my car. Factory slant with fenderwell oil cooler, etc.
Does anybody know the offsets of the stock fuchs?
Looking for a simple bolt on solution, no additional spacers/ bolt mods, etc
Thinking about some 964 speedlines, 993/996 turbo twists, 996 sport technology rims, etc
TIA

There are no OEM Porsche 17"+ wheels made in the correct offset for pre 89 911's. Well, I guess some 935 wheels, but then you need centerlocks.....
I think, but am not sure, stock offsets for 7" and 9" Fuchs on your car are 23mm front and 15mm rear.
Mille Miglia (now defunct) did make some Cup 1 and Cup 3 replicas in the 'early' offset you need.
964 Speedlines, also, won't fit. Unless you contact Speedline and get the centers mated to different barrels for a lower offset.
The only other choice is a set of aftermarket wheels, likely 3-piece. From Fikse, CCW, BBS, Kodiak, HRE, Zuffenhaus, etc. etc. Some of those companies can make you a one piece wheel in the correct offset too.
If you're thinking of different wheels because of the lack of 16" tire availability, Bridgestone did just come out with some Potenza RE-11's in 245/45 and 205/55's, they're on TireRack.
Take care!

This is such a depressing topic, for those that would prefer to keep the stock 16" wheels (as would be my case). I think I'll just have to search the world over and purchase several sets of tires that will fit, then hermetically seal them for long long term storage....since I plan to keep this car until I die which I would hope is a long *** time. I hate it that tire availability is forcing wheel change decisions for some of us purists. Not that larger wheels don't look great, don't get me wrong. But it's like the gov't telling me that I MUST carry medical insurance and not necessarily one of my choice. Good Lord, so much for democracy. OOPS....different topic.

Don't fret, Bridgestone is making RE11s in all the correct 16" sizes, and they plan to for the foreseeable future. bf Goodrich is also making a ZR rated tire g force 2 or something also in the correct sizes. RE11s are a spectacular street and track tire. I loved them on my 997tt.
according tonTR, more companies to follow soon....

Interesting that other manufacturers may follow suit - I wonder what's driving that. Demand has to be dropping off, but maybe they can justify tooling up and charging exorbitant prices to supply a low demand market. They must figure there's enough of us old farts still kicking to capitalize upon until we croak.

If there were a strong business case to manufacturer 16" tires for 930's, there would be companies lining up to make them. I don't think this is about democracy, but more about capitalism. Today's democracy would force the tire manufacturers to produce tires because certain people believe they are "entitled" to have them.
There is nothing stoping any of us from manufacturing a 16" tire for our beloved 930's ... Except it's a total loser from a business perspective.
Bite the bullet and get some 17" wheels, just remember that we'll all be looking for 17" tires 5 years from now. .
