Bad news folks - this Porsche is not in good repair. Basically needs a $15-20K engine (2 bores are scored bad), grinds in 3rd gear and pinion bearing is gone $3-4K, brakes need doing $1500, shocks and struts $1100 and a/c condenser is broken and needs repairs. Need to sink at least $25K into it. Had 2 carrera plugs in it which is 4 heat ranges too high - probably on the bad cylinders. Its worth about $10k to me but that would insult my friend. He says he will go to a dismantler in LA but the mechanic warned that those guys get the car there then say" well this is wrong and that is wrong so we will now give you ......"

So am taking a step sideways. Promised the wife I would sell my rebuilt restomod Challenger first then go for either a real 505 car (found one in Ontario, Canada 31k miles for $60k) or go for a modified non-original 505 conversion. Only reason is I don't want to have a garage full of cars. Wifey likes the slant nose - who am I to argue that one?

Go for the real one, they are going up in value, conversions never will. If you do any mods, save the stock parts, only do simple bolt on stuff that can be unbolted.

Mine could go back to stock in a day, that's the key.
Only a real 505 car has any added value, regardless of how well the conversion was done, it's typically worth less than a comparable non slant car.
