Default ‘78-79, 930 Curb Weight

I was looking at my Porsche Technical Specification booklet for the 78, 79, 80, 81 911 SC and Turbo and noticed that the curb weight of the ‘78-79, 930’s are listed at 1295 Kg (2855 lbs) and ROW cars are listed at 1300 Kg (2866 lbs). Why would the ROW cars be heavier than the U.S. cars? It seems like the U.S. cars would be heavier with the thermal reactors for the U.S. exhaust system? Also note the booklet’s inclusion of the weight specification for the U.S. 1980 930. There’s a nice article on the late 79 model 930’s in the June 2012 issue of Excellence Magazine.

My 79 was 2905 lbs. With a half tank of gas as I recall when I weighed it some years ago.
