Default help with shipper in NY

I just purchased an '85 930 from NY. I lined up a shipper to have it hauled down but an worried validity of the company. I am returning from Afghanistan and they said they could have it there the day after I get home (B-day present to myself). Only thing is I don't know how trustworthy they are.

Is anyone in the NY Bronx area that knows or can find out anything about a G&H TRANSPORTATION INC. The guys email came up as HIRAM GONZALEZ. (347) 771-4609

Anyone familiar? or can check? Would appreciate it.

Dave

Don't have one that I know of. Got them from a bid on Uship.com

I could not find anything on them either. Which is why I am nervous about them.

Congrats on your purchase , with that said...I would seek a known company for shipping. You probably paid a nice coin for your car, why leave it up to chance? I used intercity and was perfectly happy with them..just my .02cts

And they are a sponser here. Don't pinch pennies with this.

I've used Reliable and DeMoise with good results.

I would take the experienced advice here. I did find a G&H auto trans headquartered in Van Buren ,AR that is a rather large company and you are probably being contacted by their local affiliate.

As a New Yorker and knowing the Bronx well, I would NOT ship a Porsche using some unknown company from the Bronx. You would be asking for trouble with that move. My apologies to any I may offend with my opinion.

Thanks for all the input.
The only reason I was going with them is that they could hit the delivery dates that I needed. I asked for their address and they gave me this:

55 e 210 st. Bronx Ny 10467

Anyone know the area?

There are other tools to check a "carriers" performance record. This is one way to check licensing, insurance and bonding.

Most neighborhoods in the Bronx you would not want to park your Porsche, if that tells you anything.

And I've heard other RListers opin that pricing is actual competitive

If anything, pay extra for the peace of mind
