Default MSD 6AL - Require tach adaptor??

I'm about to spring for an MSD 6AL for my '87 930.

I already have the MSD Blaster Hi-Vibration coil installed.

I've read through many installation threads, and I'm still not clear if I need the tach adaptor.

Can anyone confirm whether this is necessary??

Thanks!

Picked up the 6AL today. I guess I'll install it without and see how it goes.

I've mounted mine in the left rear fender well, basically where the CDI used to reside and in front of the relay panel console box. Some people have mounted theirs on the firewall, but I wanted easier access for adjusting the MSD BTM that I also have mounted beneath the 6AL. I used to have a picture here somewhere but can't seem to find it right now.

I just installed one on a 944 turbo it was simple no need for the 8910 adapter. It runs even better!!!!
