First post and first question of many I'm sure.
Why do some 930s have vented rear fenders (for brake cooling I assume) and some seem solid or have a "chip guard"? Is the vented fender only on certain years?
Edit: I may have found my own answer. It seems the vented rear fenders are more common on Slantnose 930s but I have seen a few pics with the standard version 930s with vented fenders.
Thanks in advance...
BTW, dream find would be '89 930 White with Black interior, vented rear fenders, non-slant (for now, could change), less than 50k miles in great condition.

There are a bunch of nice cars out there. The vents on any non slant nose would have been a dealer or body shop add on, I believe. Be very pickey, you can afford to be.
Original door jam, hood and trunk VIN decals are a must for me. Mods are fine (most owners keep the parts they pulled for the mod).
Oh, white is a great color, I must say . . .

That is not neccesarily true, as Posche Special Wishes Dept. did add the vents to non slant cars..i.e. the 930S

I'm liking this body style also. Early '90s? I haven't seen any rear quater vents in this later style though and won't be a deciding factor. Just thought they looked nice. The search continues...

Thats my old 930, its a 1986, that I upgraded to look like the 965. I wish I never sold that car. I replaced the 930 for this but I truly should of kept that one.

No kiddin'! I sure wish I was looking when you were selling!
Me in Ohio, you in Maryland, we would have definitely met.
One of the best looking 930/965 I've seen. I love the color and wheels.
You can do an upgrade for me anytime!

Ihere is an old saying in the Army that says " The two best posts in the Army, are the post you just left and the one you are going to next" It can also be said about cars.

Is that one your car? I would have thought its an 86, as it has the headlamps used in the USA through 1986 my. In 87, they got the "Euro style" headlamps with smaller painted trim rings. However, this car has a side marker like a Euro spec car so it seems odd that it has USA style pre 87 headlamps. Either way nice car.

It appears as if you are looking for a "slantnose delete" like my '89. These were sold like the slantnose versions under Porsche's "Sonderwunche" or "Special Wishes" program in the 80's. There were some cars that were outfitted w/ the rear brake vents/boxed rockers by the local Porsche dealer after delivery as well. Beware: There are also some cars out there that were done by independent wrenches and some were not done very well (vents installed backwards, poor welding...etc.) so be careful and inspect fit and finish before making a decision on the car. Good luck!
