Default 1986 Turbo

Looks good at first blush. I am trying to arrange to see it tomorrow and would welcome any thoughts, initial concerns, etc....

Nice looking car, but a bit pricy. I just bought an 86 with 34K 2 owner for 36K From Sloan in Ct. FWIW He just got another 86 with 13K, one owner for$4.5 K more than the one you are looking at. Good luck.

Nice car and color but price I think is too high. I bought my car almost 3 years ago for $33,xxx with 10,000 more mile`s.My car had a bigger intercooler(Garetson),larger turbo(k-27)powerhause headers, Borla exhaust and a 5 speed conversion done prior to my ownership. It all depend`s on what you want stock or not. I knew these were the things I would have done anyway so I got the car with them already done .Good luck with whatever you choose.....

I too believe the price is way too high. While the miles are low, it is still too high to be asking for such a low mileage premium. For the asking price, the miles should be under 20k.

Would also agree. I've been casually looking for about 6 months and can say best case for similar year/miles/condition is mid $30s. I also keep a running tab on eBay and there's a HUGE gap between ask & sold prices. Often you see the same cars over & over again either because the "sale fell through" or more often too high reserve.

Thanks guys. I looked at the car this morning. Very attractive color on the car, and the interior is almost the same color leather. The condition looks better in pictures than real life. Seller made little effort to clean the car - interior was pretty dirty. I believe the miles are probably accurate, but it didn't look like they were particularly easy miles (including track time). No prior body damage or re-sprays that I could detect. Has a few blemishes in the paint, but consistent with age. Condition-wise, I would put this in the category of a nice daily driver. Two 5-year gaps in the service records, but it did have an engine-out to fix oil leaks about 10 years ago. Leaking a little oil now, but propbably par for the course. I'm looking for a garage queen/occasional driver, so not right for me. I have seen 11k-mile cars for roughly the same price, which I might have bought but for the particular colors of those cars. I would say this is probably a $30k-$35k car tops. The seller is interested in offers, but I didn't want to offend him, especially since this is not the car I'm looking for...

Hi Dean- cooler heads always prevail!

I looked at an '88 today with 92k (top & bottom done around 70k) but seller wants $39,000. He retro-fit a G-50 into it (has all books & records) but it wasn't the turbo G50-50 or 52 tranny so who knows? There's an equal in CO (miles, mods except 5 speed) that's been for sale since last spring/summer and he's down to $28,500 with no takers.

I looked at an '86 3 weeks ago with 26k miles but it would need all rubber, belts, hoses, lines, etc. done which might be OK to do projects. Unfortunately the condition of the paint was abysmal (stoner with orbital polisher). He's asking $36k.

Hi Dean

There is an 86 out your way, I was considering before I bought mine. It is gray/blk with 37k His ad is still on Auto Trader. Very nice asking $45K. 2nd owner.
