Question 245/45-ZR16 Street Tire Availability

Has anyone noticed how difficult it is to find decent street tires for our 930s? Outside of the Fuzion tires offered by Tire Rack, I have yet to find anyone that offers a decent street tire in this size. Bridgestone still lists the Potenza RE750 in this size on its site, but local Bridgestone/Firestone dealers all say that the RE750 line has been discontinued. Will check Discount Tire to see if they bought out the discontinued inventory or not.

Pretty sad state of affairs for original size tires for oue beloved 930's isn't it? Appreciate any pointers you guys may have.

My advice: Stock up on the stock sized tires for your 16's, as you come across them. Won't be too much longer and we'll be out of luck and forced to upgrade to 17's.

Hey Sebastian! Those wheels look pretty good on the car! The RH 3.6's look great on my 930. Still running them and loving them!

I'm wanting to use the last set of polished Fuchs I have on my '89 Targa. Just need to find some 245's. Hope you are well and that you will have a GREAT holiday season.

All the best,

TBP

+ 1 on the Fuzions...Bridgestone makes them and they're very good for street use.

And yes, I fear they won't be available in that size forever.

confirmation on the Fuzions and I was dubious, but they are fine. Also, Treadepot has various other makes. The 245 16s are being used by the Fast and Furious crowd for some kind of set up. Let`s hope they keep using them

A quick FYI on the proxes t1r in 245/45-16... They are EXTREMELY narrow for that size. I run 16x8 / 16x9 on my 944 and was finding the same issue regarding availability. Had to order the Toyo's sight unseen. They are the narrowest 245/45 that I have ever seen. 9" rims and they look "stretched" al la the VW crowd (Not that there's anything wrong with that...). Sooooo wish I'd picked-up another set of B'stone RE050 PP's before they disappeared :-(
