Someone over on Pelican said a stock IC can be adapted to my 76 turbo carrera. Anyone know?

Should not be all that difficult, just source the parts. With all the >78 930s out there with trick intercooler and EFI setups, finding an intercooler setup should not be diffucult.

You would also have to change the deck-lid BTW

I would like to keep the stock tail...... sounds like problems!

Check out water meth injection it is said to be a must for early non intercooled turbos
