can't help myself, thoughts on this 84 hotrod

I've got the issue of Excellence with this car in it... while the mexico blue isn't my 1st choice it is unique. I like the potential specs too. I'm a bit of a power junkie, and don't think I'd be satisfied with a stock/stockish 930 and the newer cars don't do it for me looks wise...Though I still need to drive a 996tt to make a truly informed choice
Chassis has 225k on it though...
thoughts?
thanks,
-Karl

I read the same article and would love to have turn with it on the road too. Sorry about your dog. I had a similar loss last year and as the song "Mr. Bojangles" says "He still grieves after all these years". There is a place in man's heart that is only for a dog and it can only be filled by one.

Great looking car and it probably hauls ***. Can't handle the color choice, though. For me, 930's need to be white or black.
Now the human interest side. Karl, the loss of your shepard will never leave you...and in my mind that's a good thing. My girl Abby, a Golden Retriever, left us two years ago after trampling all over my soul and heart for almost 16 years....and I'm still healing, even with my "new" girl and "old" boy keeping me company. They don't call them man's best friends for nothing.

Sorry to hear about your dog.
On topic...I also have that issue of excellence. That's seems like a sweet car and you could not duplicate it for the money they are asking. Color may not be everyone's cup of tea but personally I would drive it with pride (of course I am partial to blue). Regarding the 993tt, if you are curious by all means try to get some seat time in one. I spent 2 days with one and was really disappointed. If you love the raw, unadulterated sports car feel of the 930 you may not like the 993 very much. I will say that after driving the 993, I am indifferent to them vs. the newer water cooled models. In fact, I'd probably opt for a 997t before a 993t since it would have a warranty and would be welcome at a dealer for servicing.

With a 996tt you'll understand what its like to drive a high tech refrigerator. The car is nible, feels light, very quick but can't compare to the rawness a car like this will give you. I've driven the new ones, and driven my hotrod - world of difference. With these type cars you feel the history and pedigree. YMMV

Every guy I ever met who owned a 930 says he misses it --including the guys who own the new Turbos. For an old guy like me it lets me have more fun than anyone thinks I should. I also lost a German Shepard a few years ago and it broke my heart. So I decided to get a completely different type dog and adopted a 9 month old Pit Bull from the humane society......what a trip!!! really affectionate but DO NOT let them run loose,I do not worry about break-ins.

Awesome looking dog.
We've still got our other dog. Bongo, but I will get another German Shep puppy when the time is right. I'm not ready yet. I think it will be a while.
I'm mulling over now if I can make a commitment to the "mexico blue" color...

I know what you mean, I shopped quite a few 996 carrera's, they all had the appliance feel. I'm not looking for another appliance car. I want something visceral and fun. I've enjoyed the 930's I have driven from that point but they left me wanting for power.

Drive or fly out to see it, I've seen a few this color and let me tell you, I absolutely love it. I'm not a fan of bright or shiny cars but this is one of those colors that just pops and never gets old.

Its built already but I've got a few mods in mind.
I'm mulling over the finances now...
Guns I'm afraid seeing and driving the car would make my decision for me.

Attachment 460930I will break tradition and say the more Hot Rod the better I like it -----more Eddie Bellos type horsepower is in The Red Menace`s future. Also, Here is the "Dub"
Our nanny rescued a pit. She is a very sweet dog.
Bongo was a rescue and he is a lunatic, he has been more trouble than he is worth, but he loves my son. I have no doubt this dog would lay down and die for Michael if need be.
This is Bongo with my son... edited for the strap across his muzzle is a "gentle leader" not a muzzle... the gentle leader seems to make him more calm all the time.
