85 911 Turbo Ruf BTR Conversion, my first Porsche!

The correct valence for foglights is RUF p/n R30 500 503 02. The p/n for the foglights are 911 631 203 00 left side and 911 631 204 00 right side (Porsche p/n, not necessary to get it from RUF).
There should be an oil cooler behind the valence on your car. If there isn't, the correct RUF oil cooler to along with the valence is R30 200 207 03
Here's a photo of the valence:

That is indeed my old car. One of my favorites. And the fastest 930 I've ever driven. An absolute beast.
Lawrence, I responded to your PM. Call me and I'll pass along what I know.

Not sure about the reciept, but that is the valence installed by Ruf at time of the conversion. The other one (w/ fog lights) is their CTR valence (used on the Yellow Bird). Although I like the the one with the fog lights, this one if far better looking.

Most of the more recent conversions, like ones done in the '90s seem to have the CTR-style valence.

I don't know what Ruf supplied on Ruf VIN cars. Ruf USA dealer conversions to BTR specs had all sorts of hot housings etc. Different strokes for different folks. You can do way WAY better today.

Thanks. I'm just trying to figure out what they did to my dad's car back in the day. it's a 1978 Turbo. I believe it was previously owned for 6 years from '78 - '84 by a famous 959 race car driver name Ludwig Heimrath. It has some Ruf components (intercooler, wheels, badging, front oil cooler I think and adjustable boost) and a boost gauge that goes to 1.5 bar! Haven't checked the Turbo yet to see what's in it. Car is in great shape and runs awesome. I'll let you know once I know more.

Was your father's car a Ruf VIN car or was it a conversion? If it was a conversion, do you know who did it? Also, keep in mind that regardless or its origin, a lot of time has passed and changes could have been , and most likely were, made in the intervening years. Also, check the turbo itself for a manufacturer specification tag/plate.
