Default Tighter gear ratios

I have a '88 930 with the stock gearbox. I am looking to tighten the gear ratios. Not so concerned with top speed potential, but woiuld like to have the gearing closer to when the turbo comes in. Any suggested ratios and suggested source of the gears, please? Thanks

What are you trying to accomplish more specifically? Do you have certain tracks you run on? Are you trying to keep a usable highway 4th gear? There's plenty of gear and final drive ratio options for the car. A little more information about you, and your car (like modifications and redline) would help me make some suggestions that might be useful.

Hey there John,

There are ton's of ratio's available for your 930 gearbox, depending on what you want to accomplish this could potentially mean either a two or three gear change out. If you would like to take a look at some gearing charts I would be happy to help you with this. Pricing is going to be a bit dependent on the gear manufacturer, as well as availability, but there is certainly a lot of options available for you.

Erik, what's the chance of fitting a Quaiffe sequential gearbox into a 930?

I have a 3rd and 4th gear set up that I just took out. It was too low for me. I will sell the gear set cheap if you are interested. I can tell you how many teeth are on the gears if you are interested. I dont know the ratio. My gearing now is 1st60 2nd 90 3rd 125 and 4th have not got there yet but the car hits full boost at 3000 rpms and the gearing is ASSUME. I have different gears and ring and pinion
