What is the big deal with the rear tires? Just slap on a pair of 245/50/16's and be done with it. Now you've got lots more choices... Drive on!

Rob, there is no "big deal" with the rear tires. The problem is that getting 245s and 225s that match means you are very limited. Going with wider tires allows for more options in some cases.

Yes, I know... Hence, my recommendation to slap some 245/50/16's and be done with it...

Wow I must be missing something. Are you saying put 245s on all four corners??

he means to put the 245/50/16 on the rear only...you can run 225/50/16 in the front.

my advice is to get the toyo ra-1 in 225/50/16 front and 245/45/16 for the rear. the ra-1 is available and better and as sticky as anything on the market. you cannt get the ra-1 @ tirerack though.

Yeah, I figured that. Ok...

I am CURRENTLY running 225s in the front, and 245s in the rear. WITH THIS SETUP, options are very limited from what I've seen. I was considering going wider in the rear (sts) to open up more options, and have a little more rubber on the road.

I will look for another outlet for potentially getting the RA-1s. Thanks.

Sorry Matt, I didn't clarify what I am running in the front. ferraripete is right and that's my set-up. I have quite a few tire choices with these sizes. I'm currently running BFGoodrich g-Force Sports...

Rob, I didn't do much "shopping around" other than tire rack and discount tire online, so it appeared that the 225/245 setup was very limited in size choices. But I guess there are more choices I didn't know about. Thanks for the help.

Last year I had the same dilemma. I loved the original Fuchs but wanted 17's. I had Mike Lindsey at Lindsey Racing make me a set of his P2's in 9x17 and 11x17. He uses the centers from a 6x16 Fuchs and builds his wheel on that. I could not be happier. Might be something for you to consider.

For tires I run Kumho Ecsta XS 315/35 in the rear and 255/40 up front. I have been very happy with the tire in terms of both performance and appearance.
