Default 930 on ebay

So I put my 930 up on ebay with no reserve, I hope I don't regret this...

Condition Mechanically and cosmetically excellent original black on black 1987 930. Everything that would typically fail or need replacing has already been taken care of. I have service records and receipts dating back to 1987 totaling over $18,000. Email me for a PDF copy. No reserve! Buy it Now is $32,000

Vehicle History This 930 was originally purchased from the Southhampton, NY Porsche dealer in May of 1987. The first owner meticulously maintained this car documenting everything till he sold the car to a dealer in Sept 2002 at 54,872 miles. The car was traded between dealers and sold to a gentleman in Macon Georgia in Aug. 2004. A Florida title was issued in Nov. 2004 at 56,000 miles. I purchased the car in Aug. 2008 with 71,078 miles. An active PCA member for more than 11 years, I enjoy personally maintaining all of my cars. Over the last year I have spent a considerable amount of time and money getting the car back up to snuff. Current mileage is only 71,820. I intended to get more usage out of the car but my bike and a restoration of an early 911 has taken up much of my free time. Business opportunity forces the sale.

Exterior For a car with 70,000 miles the exterior is in excellent condition. No accidents. Paint is original and has an excellent shine. There are only a few blemishes: slight bubbling of paint below headlight about the size of a dime and the right rear fender has a blemish where the paint was over buffed. Both these defects are too small or difficult to get a good photo of. Mirrors have a few nicks, but very minimal. No dents whatsoever. Sunroof seal was worn out so I replaced the seal and while I was in there I replaced several other worn items. Everything functions perfectly now.

Interior The interior is in great shape with a little bit of wear on the driver’s side bolster. Sliver knit black carpets are in excellent condition. Original Blaupunkt cassette head unit has not been modified and functions perfectly. There is a crack in the dash, pictured. When I bought the car the power seats were not functioning consistently so I replaced one drive motor and rebuilt both the driver and passenger side actuators, both are fully operational now. Driver’s side wooden floorboard looked a little dingy so I replaced it. Rear speakers were also replaced.

Engine and Transmission Engine is stock with zero aftermarket modifications. Leak down test (similar to a compression test but more accurate) yields the following: #1 – 4% #2 – 3% #3 – 4% #4 – 4% #5 – 3% #6 – 4% Idles great, shifts good, and pulls strong through the rpm range. Factory equipped limited slip. AC works very well, especially for a 911. Clutch was replaced in 1998 at approx 50k miles. Recent maintenance over the last year:
-New spark plugs and wires
-Rebuilt distributor with new vacuum unit, new cap and new rotor
-New ignition coil and CD unit
-New front fuel pump
-New fuel filter, air filter, belts
-New K26 Turbocharger
-Valve adjustment
-Fresh engine oil and transmission oil (Swepco 201)

Chassis The chassis is in great shape. Axles were rebuilt last winter with new boots. New Bilstein Sport struts and shocks were installed. Brake calipers were rebuilt with all new seals, PFC pads and fresh fluid. The PFC pads do squeal when hot so I can swap them out with the OE Miltex pads if you’d like. Battery was replaced 6 months ago

Need to make room in the garage...

I saw it pop up today. A great deal in my opinion. Would be nice to have a black one to go with my white one, but that would just push my retirement back again!

I would say that you will regret selling - as any of us would regret once it's a done deal. But, sometimes there are other economic drivers that take over, and after all it's only a car (with that, I expect to be flamed). I'm such a realist sometimes.....

Beautiful car. The no reserve may bite you if bids are low, but the car is mostly stock and that might help bring in a purist buyer.

Good luck!

Thanks guys.
As for the Bimmer...1949 BMW R35, it's a lot of fun but finding parts is a nightmare!

The over head picture of your 930 is one of the sexiest shots of the car i have ever seen.. Good luck with the sale. Just remember regret is some of the heaviest weight someone must lift. If you are sure you want to sell then good luck.. but I know I have sold some beautiful cars in the past that i have been never able to replace. my .2

is there any way you can catch these in a photo, espcially hte paint bubble? is the cat still on for those who need to pass visual smog?

Here is a pic of the area under the front headlight

Here is a pic of the right rear fender

Catalytic converter is still on the car along with all the smog equipment. The only non stock items are the Sport bilsteins and PFC pads, other than that everything is there.

I have to go to germany for bike parts. There are a few guys here and there that have old stock and used bits.

Car is still for sale...Not once have I had a transaction on ebay that I was completely pleased with and that trend continues with a deadbeat named Gabriel Gant of New Jersey. Gabriel won my auction with a bid of $28,100 yet he chooses to ignore every attempt to contact him. I just don't understand people! Why would you step in with 30 sec left in the auction to bid $100 over the next guy and then walk away without even attempting to contact the seller?

Watch out for this guy:

It's a head trip, so he can tell his friends he "almost" bought a 930 for big bucks that he doesn't have, but chose to wait for an even nicer one for more money. A guy like that can milk the phoney status symbol wanna-be buyer routine, perhaps continue to impress the chicks he hopes to bed.

Contact the 2nd high bidder...if he is genuine and not dead beat like the first moron then, he will buy your car in a heartbeat.
