Opportunity of a life time??
I know we have all heard stories about the angry Divorcee who was selling the Mercedes SL500 for $500, or the Hemi Cuda that was stored in the barn for 40 years. Well I may have come across one of those opportunities today, sorta, and want to make sure that it's as good as it sounds.
I have the opportunity to purchase a 2005 911 Turbo S, with 30k miles on it in pristine condition, with ceramic brakes for... around $40k. I inspected the car today and it is mint, a legitimate offer. Amazingly clean! Actually nicer than my current 2000 996 with 22k on it.
The car is not listed for sale, and I happened to run into the would-be-seller today while cruising around in my 911. An elderly gentleman who has too many sports cars than he knows what to do with and he offered me the opportunity to purchase it at what seems to be a price that is too good to pass up.
Well, what do you think??

Will do. I was concerned about the ceramics myself. I know brake work on the ceramics can cost the price of a used Boxster these days. I'll post pics as soon as I purchase the car. Probably going to have a ppi done on it before I sign the check.

I got a better one for you... All I have is a check for $50k from an insurance settlement. I'll send you the check and you send me the car plus $10k.
