I could not tune the subwoofer very well with this unit. I like tons of bass, so I went with a standard alpine unit.

I am just curious. What did you not like about setting sub (bass control). The unit has seperate sub control. You cant change polarity from head unit but you can adjust freq and phase at amp. That is really a one time setting. All you should need it the sub volume controll to turn the subs up or down.
Unless the votage out is an issue and you went with a unit with stronger output voltage.

I am running two focal 8 inch subwoofers in the rear footwells. They provide enormous bass.
