raising height of car
All
My car was lowered 2" by the PO and now that i have moved to a different house...My driveway is fairly steep. I am scrapping my wastegate as well as the toe hooks in the front.
I am looking at raising about 1/2 to 3/4". With this in mind. How difficult of a DIY and also will I need to get an alignment done...The car looks stock dirty shocks but they look like Bilsteins
I know the fronts would be fairly straightforward...any special tools...Do I need to get an alignment done...Should I just pay the 300 bucks...Your thoughts
Thanks

Try backing up the driveway...or installing adjustable air shocks reminicent of Mexian Lowriders. Pump 'em up, pump 'em down.
OK, I know that doesn't answer your question but I couldn't resist.
My guess is that raising 1/2" or so would probably change the camber (or is it caster) but don't know if it would be significant enough to worry about. Or, spend the $$ and have it done right with corner balancing. Guarenteed there is someone else out there with a whole lot more suspension knowledge than I!

Car looks perfect the way it is... maybe you need to enter the driveway at a different angle or something... however, if you really must raise the car.. pay the money and let me know which shop because $300 is a steal!

I'm not sure if 1/2'' to 3/4 '' will make much of a difference. You really might need to came in at an angle to avoid the problem. That's what I have to do and my driveway is flat.
If you do need it raised, I'd get it done by a wrench and then aligned and corner weighted. It will drive a lot better.

I have tried many possible ways other than taking an angle into the yard...Front and back been tried...Hence the front tow hooks and wastegate getting scraped...
Believe me I like the stance...I was just throwing a number out for performing the work..I am sure it will cost more...
Thanks all...

I have the same problem but you need to do some work before you decide how much to raise your car. Buy a 10 foot 2x12 board and cut it half. Bevel one end on each board for the entry end. Then place them in the road leading into your drive so that the boards just touch the begining of the rise from the road. Try this out and see if your car will clear the road where it scrapes as you go up. If it does you need to try a thicker board or raise the car by 1 3/4 inches if barely clears the road. Griot's Garage has a rubber insert for the road to driveway gap that allows water to pass through it that is made for this problem. One other soloution is to go coil overs and then you can change it in about 30 minutes like I did. Good luck
