Default Maximum RPM for early 930's?

Cheers all, more info needed for my big Porsche spec database. I'm having a hard time nailing down what the factory recommended maximum RPM is for the '76 - '79 930. Is it 6,800 rpm or something different?

Thanks,
-Mirror

Doesn't your tachometer have a red hash mark on the max rpm? I believe that 6800 was the max factory recommended rpm for the 3.3L engine. I run an MSD 6AL CDI box and have installed a rev limiter tab for 6500 just to allow myself a margin. Obviously, I dont' track it...or I'd be looking for more rpm's.

Were you at the Euro Sunday yesterday in Rocklin? If so, which 930 was yours?

Hi Chuck -

I don't have one personally, I'm just inquiring for the big Porsche spec database I'm putting together. I actually have a 968.

Thanks for telling me about the Rockin gig, I wasn't aware of it. Where and when does everyone meet? I've been to something like that in Granite Bay.

Cheers,

MIRROR: Do a google for the EuroSunday website....a fellow named ADAM ram-rods these get togethers....get ahold of the site admin and have them put you on the distribution list so you get an email prior to any of the EuroSunday events. They also post special events that might be fun for you to drop in on. They had an Enzo out there along with a herd of Ferraris, couple of Masaratis, P cars from all ages, a Jensen, cobras, vettes etc. It's a fun outing that I usually stick around for a couple hours then go for a spin somewhere.
